Federal government agencies can now avail the finest offerings from Polycom (News - Alert) Inc., providing employees and contractors an opportunity to link and associate in a protected, unified voice and video environment.

A few chosen offerings from the Polycom CX Series of IP phones, optimized for Microsoft Lync, are now listed on the GSA (News - Alert) Schedule on the GS-35F-0511T GSA list via EC America, Inc.

Government agencies are introduced to the straightforwardness and expertise of the Lync interface by the Polycom CX Series of IP phones. They can therefore link their voice and collaboration platforms into a single UC&C environment in an improved and protected manner.

Apart from easy implementation, Polycom’s Lync-optimized offerings simplify communications, promote association, and decrease the total cost of ownership. Compared to conventional PBX (News - Alert) and IP PBX voice systems, the offerings use native incorporation and plug-and-play functionality for ensuring straightforward implementation, administration and provisioning.

In a statement, Greg Myers, VP of Federal Sales at Microsoft (News - Alert) said, “Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Lync are being adopted quickly by customers seeking cost savings and greater productivity. Polycom CX phones availability on the GSA Schedule makes it easier for our customers to order and benefit from a full unified communications solution. Polycom delivers innovative voice and video end points and infrastructure that deliver to customers a great Lync experience and value.”

Currently, only the CX500, CX600 and CX3000 from the Polycom CX Series of IP phones are available to federal government clients. While CX500 is perfect for common areas like hallways, break rooms or lobbies, CX600 is a typical IP desktop phone featuring Polycom HD Voice.

The CX300 is a unique conference phone optimized for Microsoft Lync.

Tony D’Angelo, VP of Federal Operations, Polycom said, “The Federal government is under increasing pressure to improve communication and collaboration, both within and between agencies, to streamline operations, reduce costs, and better serve citizens. The Microsoft Lync environment is ideal for rapidly connecting employees and contractors across government agencies, and Polycom offers the broadest portfolio of Lync-optimized solutions, spanning desktop, common areas and conference rooms, and builds on its legacy of high-quality audio and conferencing by delivering the only conference phone designed for Lync.”
