Cerium Networks, Inc. can officially call itself a Lync Certified Support Partner. The unified communications (UC) company has completed its certification, which will allow it to offer Microsoft (News - Alert) backed, single-point-of-contact support to its clients.

The Washington-based company began its operations in 2000 and was developed to help design, implement, and support other companies with its unified communications solution. The company has evolved its services, offering everything from IP telephony, unified messaging, contact center, wireless solutions and network security.

Since the company was recognized as a leader in advanced communication solutions, it was only a matter of time before it worked on becoming integrated with Microsoft Lync. As a certified partner, the company will be able to combine various forms of communication into one easy-to-use platform.

"When you deploy a Lync voice solution alongside instant messaging/presence, and conferencing, you need a partner that understands the complete solution – software, hardware and network," explained Rob Husted, Cerium's Microsoft Practice leader. "Cerium Networks has developed partnerships with leading manufacturers of Microsoft Lync qualified endpoints, gateways and services so that we can be that single point of contact to support your entire UC infrastructure built on Microsoft Lync."

Lync lets users connect online using Microsoft Lync’s server to communicate with one another via text, audio, and video communications. Additionally, users have access to their contact lists, collaboration on documents through Word and the ability to share files with one click.

Roger Junkermier, president of Cerium Networks, added that this partnership helps place his company in a desirable position. "This certification places Cerium in a very exclusive category as one of a few partners worldwide to have certified in this program," he noted.

"As our Lync practice continued to expand we committed to the rigors of this certification process to build the skills that would enhance our customer service capabilities. This latest achievement will provide streamlined support for our Lync customers that is backed by Microsoft expertise."
